Football Betting: Markets and Handicaps
Football — soccer — is the biggest betting sport in the world, with more leagues and markets than any other. If the Bigbunny sportsbook is available for your account, its football section will list domestic leagues, international competitions and many smaller leagues; which ones appear depends on the operator. This guide explains the main football markets, how Asian handicaps work, what moves live odds and how to keep football betting within a budget in pesos.
1X2 and double chance
The basic football market is 1X2: home win (1), draw (X) or away win (2), settled on the result after normal time — extra time and penalties usually do not count. Because the draw is a real outcome, each side's odds are longer than in a two-way sport. Double chance covers two of the three outcomes in one bet (1X, X2 or 12) at shorter odds; it is a way to reduce risk, and the price reflects that.
Goals markets
Over/under goals markets set a line such as 2.5: over wins with three goals or more, under with two or fewer. Both teams to score (BTTS) asks whether each side scores at least once. Correct score and first goalscorer markets pay high odds because they are hard to get right, and their margins are usually larger. Corners and cards have their own markets, settled by the sportsbook's own rules on what counts.
Asian handicap
Asian handicap removes the draw by giving one team a head start. On −0.5 your team must win; on +0.5 it must avoid defeat. Whole-number lines such as −1 return your stake if the team wins by exactly one goal. Quarter lines such as −0.75 split your stake between two lines (−0.5 and −1), so you can win half or lose half. It sounds complicated, but it often produces fairer prices than 1X2 on uneven matches. Our bet types guide has worked examples.
Live football odds
After kick-off, odds move with the score, the clock, red cards and pressure. Markets are suspended briefly after goals and penalties. Late in a match, small prices on the leading team look safe and are not: one goal changes everything. Cash out is often offered on football bets; it can protect a position, but the price always includes a margin.
Bankroll habits
Weekend football can mean dozens of matches, and accumulators across many games are tempting because a small stake can return a lot. Each extra leg lowers the chance of winning sharply. Keep a fixed stake per bet in pesos, keep accumulators small and occasional, and never chase Saturday's losses on Sunday.
